Abstracts submission guidelines

We have put together an ambitious and high-level scientific programme, to encourage the participation of delegates from multiple disciplines.  An exceptional set of leading biophysicists will present on a wide range of topics in the plenary and invited lectures.

Contributions for oral and poster presentations are welcomed.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 27 March, 2019

Abstracts of max. 350 words (1300 characters approx.) should be submitted online by 27 March 2019.

  • ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
    • Abstracts must be submitted online via the abstract submission website. Hard copy paper submissions will not be accepted.
    • All abstracts must only be submitted in English.
    • Maximum number of allocated presentations per presenter/registration:
      • 1 oral/poster
    • The organizers are under no obligation to accept abstracts that are submitted after the deadline date (20 March 2019).
    • Abstracts submitted after the abstract deadline—post-deadline abstracts—may be considered for poster sessions subject to availability and at the discretion of the Committee.
    • The Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts that do not fit with the goals of the conference or according to their scientific quality.
     
    TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS
    All abstracts will be considered for Poster Presentation.
     
    Some abstracts will be selected to be presented as an Oral Presentation (15 min) in in one of the Symposia Sessions.
    Presentation details (session, date, time and format) will be sent with the notification of acceptance of the communication to the authors (4 April)
     
  • ABSTRACT FORMAT
    • Abstract title:  Please do not indent. The maximum length will be 25 words.
    • Keywords:  Authors are requested to give a minimum of two and a maximum of five keywords.
    • Abstract:  Abstracts must be submitted in a Word fileand have a maximum of 350 words (1300 characters approx.)
    Please make sure you check your abstract carefully before finalising your submission. IMPORTANT: No modifications will be allowed after the submission deadline.
  • AUTHORS' DETAILS
    Author names and affiliations: Where the family name may be ambiguous (e.g., a double name), please indicate this clearly. Institution, department and location are requested from all authors.

    Contact person: Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication (and post-publication).  Ensure the information provided is correct and make sure contact details (phone number and email) are right for the corresponding author and the presenting author as these will be used for contact purposes.
  • ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS
    • An author whose abstract has been accepted is required to register online and pay the registration fee to confirm inclusion of the presentation in the programme.
    • Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must register by15 April 2019 to confirm inclusion in the Book of Abstracts. If the presenting author of the abstract does not register by this date the organizers reserve the right to remove the presentation/s from the Book of Abstracts.
    • If presenting author cannot attend and present they must withdraw their abstract online (before 15 April 2019) or by notification to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
    • Requests for substitute co-author presenters after the abstract submission deadline must be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
    • When accepted submitting authors are notified of their programme listing, they must check their presentation listing and notify This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.if any amendments are required.
    • Programme listings and abstracts may be published in digital formats via the conference website and mobile app. You will be asked for authorization during the submission process
  • POSTER GUIDELINES
    Posters will be on display at the Conference Venue, with dedicated poster sessions as scheduled in the programme. 

    Please note that during poster sessions, authors should stand close to their boards to answer questions and facilitate discussions on their work. If you are presenting a poster, please ensure that you display your poster on the board number that matches your poster number in the programme.

    Posters must be no larger than A0 in size (1189 x 841 mm / 46.8 x 33.1 inches), in a portrait format. If your poster does not fit within these dimensions, we cannot guarantee it will be displayed. Fixing material will be supplied. Information on your individual poster session will be made available soon.

    The dimensions of the poster board are 90 cm wide and 120 cm high (view sample image below).
